Biographical Sketches
Barkev is a candidate for the Master in Real Estate program at Harvard University (2026–2027), where he is focused on bridging design and development to create resilient, high-performance real estate that aligns financial performance with measurable social and environmental impact.
He earned his Bachelor's degree from the Southern California Institute of Architecture (SCI-Arc) in 2011, where he received consecutive scholarships for his portfolio and graduated with distinction for his academic achievements.
Over the past decade, Barkev has built a career spanning architecture, interior design, and real estate development, contributing to award-winning projects at leading design studios recognized by the American Institute of Architects. His experience encompasses a diverse range of project types and scales, providing a foundation for understanding the interconnected disciplines that shape the built environment.
Barkev is a registered architect in California, holds NCARB certification, is NCIDQ-certified in interior design, and is a California-licensed real estate professional.
He has additionally earned multiple industry-recognized credentials pertaining to project management (PMP), evidence-based design (EDAC), wellness (WELL AP), environmental strategies (SITES AP), and sustainability (LEED AP across all five specialties). These qualifications enable him to bring a comprehensive, holistic approach to development strategies.
